Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) services are available to Georgia parents who need assistance. The custodial parent may apply at the OCSE office that serves their county. There is an application fee of $25. The custodial parent is asked to furnish legal documents, if available, and information about the non-custodial parent.

Child Support Services include: locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity, establishing and enforcing child support orders, establishing and enforcing medical support orders and collecting and distributing support payments.

OCSE Does Not: help anyone get a divorce, find custodial parents, take legal action about visitation rights or custody, enforce court-ordered payment of unpaid bills not related to child support payments, or help legitimize children.

The Probate Court of Cobb County has exclusive jurisdiction in the following matters: probate of wills, appointment and removal of executors and administrators; sale and disposition of estate property; appointment and removal of guardians of minors and incapacitated adults; audit of returns of executors, administrators, and guardians; commitments of the mentally ill, alcohol and drug abusers; issuance of
marriage licenses; issuance of firearms licenses; and miscellaneous services such as issuance of fireworks permits, recording of elected officials’ oaths and bonds, and certificates of residence.

The primary function of the Probate Court is to insure that estates and guardianships are administered in accordance with the law. The Judge of the Probate Court determines controversies involving estates and guardianships by conducting trials both with and without a jury.

The State Court of Cobb County conducts jury trials on misdemeanor and civil cases that request a trial by jury. All criminal jury trials in this court are tried before a six-person jury. Civil cases, wherein the amount of the claim exceeds $25,000.00, can request a twelve-person jury. All other civil cases are tried by a six-person jury.

General Juror Information:
  • Length of Service - One Week, or until trial is complete. Many jurors serve less than a full week.
  • Reporting Date & Time - Monday each week at 8:00 A.M. except as otherwise instructed. All Jurors after Monday each week will report at the time given by the Judges or court services personnel.
  • Reporting Locations - On Monday at 8:00 A.M., all jurors should report to the jury assembly on the fourth floor of the State Court Building located at 12 East Park Square, Marietta, Georgia. The remainder of the week, each juror should report or call in as instructed daily.
  • Juror Service Fees - Jurors will be paid $25.00 for each day they report to the courthouse for service. Checks will be mailed out at the end of each week’s service.
