- What is the date of the race?
The race is Saturday, October 8, 2011
- What charity benefits from the race?
Net proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Georgia & Alabama to grant wishes for Cobb County children with life threatening medical conditions.
- When & where does the race start?
The race begins and ends at the Marietta Square at 8 am. Participants will proceed through historic Marietta Neighborhoods, returning to the Square. Click here to view the route.
- How do I register?
Runners may register through our homepage which will have a direct link to Active.com. Registration forms may also be printed and mailed to the address below or brought to the race.

Online registration must be completed on or before Friday, September 30, 2011. Mailed registration forms must be submitted and post-marked on or before Friday, September 30, 2011.
This year runners will have the option of electronic timed or untimed registration. The registration fees reflect this change.

- Can I register at the race?
Yes, walk-up registration will be available beginning at 7 am.
- What distance is a 5K?
A 5K is around 3.1 miles
- Is the race a Peachtree Road Race qualifier?
The requirements for a race to be a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race are that the course is certified and the distance meets the requirements. The 5K route has been modified to meet the requirements for the Peachtree Road Race. Click here to view the route.
- Who is eligible to run/walk?
We welcome runners and walkers of all ages to enter the race.
- What is the parking information?
Free parking will be available in the Cobb County Parking Deck and in lots around the Square.
- What “goodies” does the 5K provide?
All participants will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt and a “goody bag” with coupons and/or items donated from our sponsors
- What are the age categories?
Men and Women: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
- What awards are given?
Award plaques are given out in the following categories: Men’s Overall Women’s Overall Men’s Master Overall Women’s Master Overall
1st, 2nd & 3rd place plaques are given out in each of the age categories.
- When do I pick up my race number, shirt & goody bag?
Runners will pick up their race number at the registration table at the beginning of the race. Shirts and goody bags will be given out at the end of the race.
- Will you mail my t-shirt if I don’t get to attend the race?
Only Phantom Runners will have their t-shirt mailed to them after the race.
- Where will the restrooms be located?
The portable restrooms will be set up on Lawrence Street this year.
- Where are the water stations?
Water will be available before and after the race and at two locations along the race route.
- How will weather affect the race?
The race will go on as planned unless conditions are deemed hazardous to runners and/or volunteers.
- What is a Phantom Runner?
A Phantom Runner is someone who wants to support the 5K but is not able to attend the race. The fee for Phantom Runners is $20 and they must submit a registration form. They will receive a race t-shirt which will be mailed to them after the race.
- Am I allowed to bring baby strollers/jogging strollers?
Strollers are allowed at the race. We ask that you be mindful of the other runners. For safety, we do not allow bicycles, skates, skateboards, etc.
- Am I allowed to bring my pet?
Pets on leashes are allowed at the race. We ask that you be mindful of the other runners.
- The race is advertised as a run but can we walk the route?
There are a lot of walkers who participate in the race.
- I would like to get a group together to walk/run – what do I do?
If you have a group who would like to participate, each person must fill out a separate registration form. You have two options before sending them in. The fees can be collected by a main person in your group and one check sent to cover all runners or each runner can attach a check to their registration form which can be sent in as a group.
We ask that you print the name of your running group at the bottom of the registration form. This lets us know how many groups we have participating. Before the 5K starts, our emcee will recognize all groups.
- Is there a discount for groups?
Teams of 10 or more will receive a reduced registration fee of $15 untimed and $20 timed per runner.
School students, teachers or groups can register for $10 untimed or $12 timed. The reduced fee does not apply for student’s parents or grandparents. The school’s name or team name should be written on the registration forms.
NOTE: Discounted registration is not available through our website.
- Are there any activities planned after the race?
There will be a Farmer’s Market taking place at 9 am after the race. They will be set up on North Park Square.
- I can’t participate but would like to volunteer – who do I contact?
