Community Development Block Grant [CDBG] Program Office |
The Cobb County CDBG Program Office administers a variety of programs through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD).
The three major programs administered are:
- Community Development Block Grant [CDBG] Program:
Funds Public Facilities and Public Services to improve the social, economic, and physical environment of low and moderate
income persons, as well as special need individuals residing in Cobb County.
- HOME Investment Partnership Act [HOME] Program:
Aims to increase the supply of affordable housing for low and moderate income and special need families through the
First-Time Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance, the Acquisition and Development of New Housing, and the rehabilitation or
reconstruction of dilapidated housing in Cobb County.
- Emergency Shelter Grant [ESG] Program:
This program provides emergency shelter, supportive services and homeless prevention activities for homeless or at-risk
families and individuals in Cobb County.

If you wish to apply for any of the following grants, please download the appropriate application and submit following the procedures specified above.
Cobb County CDBG Program Office will be accepting applications for Program Years (PY) 2009 & 2010 for the CDBG Program on February 11, 2008 and ending April 18, 2008. All CDBG Program Applicants will be required to submit a two-year budget projection for PY 2009 and 2010 budgets.
NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN PY 2009 FOR THE HOME AND ESG PROGRAMS. The HOME and ESG Programs have three (3) year budget projections, commencing with PY 2008 and ending in PY 2010.
*NOTE: Subrecipients for the HOME & ESG Programs who received funding in 2008 will be given 2 year contract extension for 2009 & 2010 program year respectively. Since HOME & ESG subrecipients are primarily the same providers of service since the program’s inception, Cobb County will enter into multi-year agreements (2008-2010) to ensure timely and accurate long-term budget projections for all HOME & ESG subrecipients.
Applications will be accepted from public agencies and qualified non-profit organizations. The PY 2009 grants will be available to Cobb County beginning January 1, 2009.
